Guestbook for Cindy Lou Holman

sign guestbook

Movies in the den, basketball games, football games, dance committees, school dances, spilt sodas in restaurants, "Dorothy" in the Wizard of OZ. Laughs, laughs, laughs. That is the Cindy Lou I will always remember. My heart goes out to all who have lost her.

Dear Greg and family, I was so saddened to hear of Cindy's passing. I have very fond memories of Cindy when we were in a Bible study together at First Free Church. She was a thoughtful and inspiring woman. We are all richer for having known Cindy and the many ways she touched our lives. My heartfelt condolences go out to your family for your loss. She will be in good company in heaven with my Bill.

We just learned of Cindy's death. We loved Cindy's sensitive and kind spirit. I (Dawn) was there for Sunny's birth, and always felt so privileged that Cindy would want me there. Unfortunately I lost track of you Cindy. I wish I could have been there for you. Our prayers are with your family.

Over the past few years I had an opportunity to be in Bible Study a few times with Cindy. She had such a sweet spirit. I also knew her 20 years ago when our kids were little. I remember having fun talking with her outside of preschool while the kids played. I picture her in heaven right now with her beautiful smile...someday we'll share another hug when I get there, too.

I met Cindy a couple of years ago when she lived in my neighborhood. Over the time of a year or two, I had several very meaningful conversations with her about very important things. My family went to a neighborhood church which Cindy often visited, too. She had many people who loved her and prayed often for her there. I remember one night, my children and I invited her over for pizza and to watch the movie Pilgrim's Progress. We had a great time and discussed the types of things you would imagine to stem from watching that movie. I had hope after speaking with her. Another time, I had been up all night, unable to sleep.( which is very unusual for me. ) When the sun came out, I walked to purchase a cup of coffee and Cindy, cheery and smiling, walked up to me excited to see me, saying she had been hoping for someone to talk to. I am not a morning person, so again, it was unusual for me to have been there. I bought my cup of coffee and went to her home and had a conversation with her that lasted several hours. I really loved Cindy's heart and passion. I've never met another person like her!

No matter when this day comes in our lives it is a profound loss. I know that there have been many ups and downs, but I reflect on a happy time in the Holman family when two devoted parents had their wonderful little children. Jake, Sabrina, Eli, and Sunny, you each inherited charming personalities, winning smiles and an essence of optimism. May you all find peace in this life and may your mom find peace in the next. I hold you in my thoughts and prayers.

Eli...You went to school with my daughter, Jensyn Gillies. I am so sorry for your loss. I had the pleasure of working with your mother at First Federal. When I came to know your mother best, she worked in the mailroom and everyone in my work group enjoyed visiting with your mother each day. I will remember your mother with joy and fondness as I reminisce over many of the good conversations we had. Take care and know that you and your family are in a lot of peoples thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
