Arthur G. Anderson, 83, of Holmen, WI. formerly of Eau Claire passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 10, 2019 at Mayo Clinic Health System, La Crosse, WI. He was born on December 10, 1935 to Clifford and Lucille Anderson in Eau Claire, WI. He graduated in 1954 from Eau Claire High School. He married the love of his life, Virginia Nelson on July 3, 1955. They recently celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary with their special traditional trip to Algoma, WI.
Art was a renowned wild life artist. He attended UW-Eau Claire where he took college-level art classes and finished his art education at the Art Instructional School of Minneapolis, MN. He has won numerous awards and contests over the last 30+ years, including the highest accolade for a wild life artist- the Federal Duck Stamp design for 1987-1988. He also won the State Duck Stamp design for 2004 and 2007, and the State Turkey Stamp for 1990 and 1995.
Arthur is survived by his wife, Virginia; children, Brian (Linda) Anderson of Osseo, WI., Kristi (Jeff) Gregg of Wisconsin Rapids, WI, John (Amy) Anderson Cornell, WI, Steve Anderson of Wisconsin Dells, WI, and Chad (Marlena) Anderson of Rochester, MN; brother, David (Pat) Anderson of Clinton Township, MI; 7 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and many beloved relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Clifford Anderson; sons, Kevin and Timothy Anderson; and granddaughter, Nicole Musch.
A service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 1900 Bainbridge Street, La Crosse. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Lunch to follow at Holland Town Hall on McHugh Road, Holmen, WI.
Art was grateful to Jehovah for richly blessing his life in so many ways. He will be greatly missed.
